EVERTON FC: MOYES: FORGET 7-1
/noticias.info/ David Moyes is urging his players to forget the 7-1 win over Sunderland earlier this season.
That game saw the Toffees overrun the North East side at Goodison Park, but Moyes knows they will provide a much sterner examination at the Stadium of Light.
The manager believes that the November game must be banished from the memory as the focus is firmly applied to Sunday's match.
Moyes told evertonfc.com: "We played well on the day and got a good result. But Sunderland are a different opposition at their own place.
"We know it will be tough, they need their points for their own reasons, but we need the points as well."
Sunderland are involved in a relegation battle, currently sitting two places above the drop-zone.
Everton boss Moyes reckons the Roy Keane's side would be delighted to stay up this term, and would be an improved outfit next term.
"I think he’s done a terrific job at getting them promoted last year and I think a lot was made of Roy coming into management, and what would happen," said Moyes.
"But it was always going to be difficult for any manager in their first season, especially in the Premier League, so I think he will see it as a success if he can keep them in the Premier League for next season.
"And with the people behind him, Niall Quinn and the backers he’s got, I’m sure they will look to try and progress again. notas_de_prensa_archivo
