GOLF: PGA EUROPEAN TOUR: McDowell finds the right approach in Korea
/noticias.info/ Inspirational approach play allied to exemplary putting at Pinx Golf Club on Jeju Island, South Korea, paved the way for Graeme McDowell’s victory in the inaugural Ballantine’s Championship.
The Genworth Financial Statistics reveal the Ulsterman topped both the Greens in Regulation and the Putts Per Green in Regulation categories on his way to defeating India’s Jeev Milkha Singh in a play-off. McDowell hit a staggering 91.7% greens in regulation over the week, equating to an average of 16.5 greens a round for the four days, and over the final 18 holes he missed only one green, hitting 94.4%.
Once on the putting surface he converted his chances, averaging a mere 1.621 putts on those greens he hit in regulation. Overall he took 29.2 putts per round on his way to a 24 under par total of 264, the lowest winning score of the season to date. notas_de_prensa_archivo
