UEFA CUP: UEFA Cup final tickets deadline passes
/noticias.info/ The first round of ticket sales has ended for the 2008 UEFA Cup final, to be played at the City of Manchester Stadium in England on 14 May.
Lottery decider
The general public were invited to apply for up to two tickets before midnight CET last night, and allocation will now be decided by lottery with every valid application entering the ballot, regardless of the time of submission within the application period.
Ticket allocation
The net capacity of the City of Manchester Stadium for the final will be 44,000, of which a quarter were available for sale to fans worldwide. Around 60 per cent of the stadium capacity is reserved for supporters of the two finalists, with each club able to take up to 13,000 tickets and distribute these directly to their fans. A total of 7,000 tickets will be allocated to the European football family, comprising UEFA, national associations, commercial partners and broadcasters, and the Local Organising Committee.
Tout warning
Once the two finalists are known at the beginning of May, the clubs will communicate in detail how they operate the sales to their fans. UEFA encourages supporters not to be lured into deals with touts, who not only demand exorbitant prices but are often not in possession of the tickets they purport to have for sale.
Terms and conditions
All applicants are bound by the ticketing terms and conditions. Action will be taken in cases of infringement. Online applications will be checked against police data to ensure that anyone banned from stadiums is unsuccessful in any attempt to purchase tickets. Persons attending the final are warned that tickets will be personalised and that security checks at the stadium are planned. UEFA underlines that no tickets are being distributed via agencies or brokers. notas_de_prensa_archivo
