FOOTBALL EUROPE: Treble-chasing Bayern reach final

Five points clear in the Bundesliga and through to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup, Bayern will now meet BV Borussia Dortmund in the final on 19 April thanks to second-half goals from Franck Ribéry (60) and Miroslav Klose (66) at the Fußball Arena München. Bayern dominated possession in the early stages without putting the Wolfsburg goal under any real threat and they ended the first half with a Ribéry header and a Mark van Bommel shot the only causes of alarm for the visitors.

Quick-fire strikes
Confined to counterattacks, the visitors rarely threatened, and Bayern duly made their territorial advantage count on the hour when Klose fed Ribéry, who slipped the ball through the legs of Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio.
