OSSIE'S CRUCIAL ROLE
/noticias.info/ David Moyes has hailed Leon Osman's importance to Everton.
The midfielder has been utilised in a variety of positions for the Toffees this term - but the manager believes it is in central midfield that the Englishman has proved to be the side's biggest asset.
And with injury issues for goal-getters such as Andrew Johnson, Tim Cahill, James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe, Osman's eye for goal could be crucial in the remaining Premier League fixtures as the Blues battle for a top four finish.
They are qualities the Goodison chief also believes make Osman a candidate for international honours with England.
He added: "I think Leon is a really good team player for us. We have asked him to play in two or three different roles but I think the more we see him central midfield might be his best position. He can play wide, he was a forward and he has a goal in him as well but, more importantly, he is a team player.
"He has been with me virtually since the start and I am pleased about that. He is a good boy. I have said many times he could make the step up (to the international stage).
"Some of his performances are very close to international quality. It is a big jump, a big step but Ossie has done really well here."
