The last league meeting at Goodison was in December 2006 with Everton triumphing 2-0 with goals by Leon Osman and James Vaughan. We have already won twice at Upton Park this season, 2-1 in the Carling Cup in December and then 2-0 in the league three days later.

The last hat-trick in the fixture was the three scored by Nick Barmby at Upton Park in Feb 2000 and the last at Goodison was Kevin Campbell in May 1999 – West Ham are the only side we have scored two hat-tricks against in the Premiership. No West Ham player has scored three since Jimmy Ruffell in 1931.

Leon Osman has scored against West Ham in each of the past three seasons, including 2007-08.

A goal for Ayegbeni Yakubu on Saturday would make the Nigerian the first Everton player since Gary Lineker (against Liverpool in 1985/86) to score against the same side in three different matches in the same season.
