Sunday weather update - wet race possible

/noticias.info/ Welcome to race day at the second round of the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship, the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. The hot and very humid weather here is always good for the odd thunderstorm, and this year has been no exception.

In the past two days rain has finally hit the circuit late in the afternoon, hence there are inevitable concerns over the possibility of precipitation during the race, which starts at 1500 hours local time, 0700 GMT. Otherwise, the ambient temperature high for the day will be 27 degrees Celsius.

The 5.543 kilometre (3.444 mile) circuit is unchanged since Fernando Alonso scored his first win for McLaren here last year. The race will run over 56 laps or 310.408 kilometres (192.887 miles).
