CHOI ON THE RIGHT TRACK AT DORAL
/noticias.info/ March 23: Korean stalwart Choi Kyung-ju closed in at the top of the pack when he was four under after 14 holes in the third round at the WGC – CA Championship before play was suspended due to darkness on Saturday.
Choi, a three-time winner on the Asian Tour, got off on the right note by chalking up birdies in the first two holes before firing two more birdies on the back nine at Doral.
He was eight-under-par for the tournament and trails overnight leader Geoff Ogilvy by six strokes. The Australian talent was two under through 11 today.
Indian star Jeev Milkha Singh, who was in a tie for fourth place on Friday, was one under through 11 holes as he was seven under for the tournament.
Two strokes off the pace from Singh was Sweden’s Daniel Chopra who posted a 69 for a two-day total of 211.
Thailand’s Chapchai Nirat failed to take advantage of the early eagle on the first hole dropping shots on the seventh, eighth and 13th holes before the suspension. He was three under for the week.
India’s S.S.P Chowrasia completed his round with a 69 while China’s Liang Wen-chong posted a 73. New Zealand’s Mark Brown endured a slow round after a 76.
Tiger Woods was even-par after 11 holes and trails Ogilvy by three strokes.
