EVERTON FC: THE BOSS ON RODWELL
/noticias.info/ David Moyes admits he has high hopes for Jack Rodwell.
The 17-year-old made his Everton debut in December in the Uefa Cup, then had his first League appearance at Sunderland earlier this month.
He signed a professional contract with Everton this week, days after turning 17.
And Moyes has been pleased with the progression of the youngster from Birkdale.
The manager told evertonfc.com: "He has done similar to Wayne Rooney, James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe, he is young and we have been short so that has helped him get a foothold.
"He certainly hasn't looked out of place in training, he has got a lot of potential but we won't be pushing him."
Rodwell may now link-up with England as his development continues apace.
Moyes continued: "It's more than likely he will join up with England for the under 17 tournament in Israel after the weekend.
"If we (at Everton) think you are good enough we will try and push you towards the team and Jack has done that."
