EVERTON FC: MOYES IS BEMUSED
/noticias.info/ David Moyes admits he is bemused by the timing of this week's international games.
International fixtures all over the world take place this week, and because it is a FIFA sanctioned date, clubs must release players.
The games are sandwiched between two Premier League fixtures, the second of which is the Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Moyes knows plenty about midweek travel after Everton's European exertions this season.
He said: "It's mentally draining as much as anything. The hardest thing is preparing for the games, flying out and back, and that is why I think it is a difficult time for the international boys with the timing of the games.
"Deep down I think the players would rather rest and concentrate on the Premier League. The friendlies don't do a lot for them."
Moyes was set to lose Tim Cahill for a game in China before his injury blow, while Victor Anichebe is scheduled to travel to Nigeria to play for their Olympic side.
Steven Pienaar was named in the South Africa squad for their home friendly with Paraguay before his bout of illness, while Tim Howard and the USA have a friendly in Poland.
