FOOTBALL EUROPE: More coaching upheaval at Dinamo
/noticias.info/ Gheorghe Multescu and Dorinel Munteanu have become the latest coaches in Romania's Liga 1 to lose their jobs following weekend home defeats.
Dinamo decision
Multescu, 56, has stood down after only five matches in charge of FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti following Sunday's 2-1 loss to leaders CFR 1907 Cluj. The result left the Bucharest club fourth in the table, 13 points off the pace and seven behind second-placed FC Steaua Bucureşti. "When I came to Dinamo, my objective was to finish the season in second position," he said. "Now the chances of achieving that are very slim and that's why the contract has been ended by mutual consent." Dinamo will look for their fifth coach of the campaign, with Mircea Rednic, Walter Zenga and Cornel Talnar having preceded Multescu into the hot seat.
Munteanu out
Former Romania midfielder Munteanu, 39, has also left SC Vaslui by mutual agreement with the team seventh in the standings, six points behind Dinamo. Sunday's 1-0 reverse against Steaua proved to be the final straw for Vaslui's chief investor Adrian Porumboiu, who expressed dissatisfaction with the attitude of his players and coach in the game before confirming Munteanu's departure. A successor has yet to be named. notas_de_prensa_archivo
