UEFA ORGANISATION: Ex-pros view the future
/noticias.info/ The Sports Group of European Former Football Players Associations (EFPA) meets in Barcelona on 11/12 April for its latest congress. Under the motto Still Playing, the gathering will discuss and analyse the role of former players and the future of football.
Football and fair play
The objectives of the congress, which will take place at FC Barcelona, are to raise the body's profile across Europe, to debate today and tomorrow's footballing issues, and to promote the values of football and fair play among the young. The congress will comprise a cycle of conferences involving representatives of various clubs and organisations devoted to promoting social activities among former players.
Exchanging opinions
Ramón Alfonseda, president of EFPA, said that the second edition of the EFPA Congress would provide an excellent framework in which to exchange opinions about former players and their experiences, about the role of associations in Europe, and about the idea of the former player as a role model for the young.
Pioneering organisation
EFPA is the first European federation gathering the associations of former top-flight footballers from all UEFA countries. It was founded in 2004 with the goal of fostering public, social and institutional recognition for former players and their contribution to the development of collective identities and the integration of communities. notas_de_prensa_archivo
