FOOTBALL EUROPE: Lennon back at Celtic as a coach

/noticias.info/ Former captain Neil Lennon has rejoined Celtic FC as part of boss Gordon Strachan's coaching staff.

'Where the heart lies'
Lennon is back as a coach, having left as a player last summer when he joined Nottingham Forest FC. The 36-year-old departed Forest for another English lower-league club, Wycombe Wanderers FC, in January yet now returns to "a place where everyone knows my heart lies". The move signals the end of the former Northern Irish international's playing career.

'Tremendous honour'
He said: "I am overwhelmed at being offered this chance. Obviously it was a tremendous honour to play for Celtic and to captain the club. Returning and being part of the coaching set-up is simply phenomenal." Lennon made 214 Scottish Premier League appearances for the Glasgow team over six and a half seasons. He also gave long service to Crewe Alexandra FC and Leicester City FC.
