EVERTON FC:VICTOR'S BUG BATTLE
/noticias.info/ Victor Anichebe has remained on Merseyside this week in order to give himself a chance of figuring against Derby on Sunday.
The young striker returned to Finch Farm on Wednesday to begin working on his fitness after overcoming a virus that left him hospitalised last week and ruled him out of the 207th Merseyside derby.
He has been working alone whilst the rest of David Moyes' first team squad have been on a training break in Spain.
Anichebe has welcomed the opportunity to work on his stamina after recovering from a virus that prevented him eating for four days.
With a shortage of striking options hindering the manager's plans in recent weeks, the 19-year-old is desperate to play his part in the remaining games of the season.
He told evertonTV exclusively: "I came back from the Nigeria game last week on a high and looking forward to the derby. But I could feel myself getting a little ill - I just thought it was nothing. Then during the day I came back I kept getting bad pains in my stomach. notas_de_prensa_archivo
