ARSENAL: Paddy Power charity bet of the weekend
/noticias.info/ Paddy Power, Arsenal's official online betting partner, will donate a £50 stake every week for Arsenal.com to make a charity bet. Last season the charity bet raised £1,600 for the Willow Foundation. This season all winnings will be presented to Arsenal's chosen charity for the 2007/08 season, TreeHouse.
The amount raised so far this season stands at £1381 . Take a look at this week's selections:
£20 double: Blackburn to beat Tottenham/Fulham to beat Sunderland - 4/1
Spurs are languishing in mid-table and their form is that of a side already looking beyond May. A 4-1 home humiliation at the hands of Newcastle last week has probably done some psychological damage and Ewood Park is far from an ideal place to put it right. Blackburn will be desperate for the points to keep their slim European hopes alive. Sunderland do not travel well. Fact - a win at Aston Villa was only their first of the campaign. Fulham look doomed but know a win over their relegation rivals may just be the lift they need.
£10 single: Middlesbrough v Man Utd - Draw - 3/1
Middlesbrough prove over and over that the Riverside is not an easy place to go, just ask Arsenal. They seem equally impressive away from home too. Southgate’s men pushed Chelsea every step of the way last week and with Manchester United perhaps distracted by the Champions League, there is a chance that ‘Boro can grab at least a point.
£10 double: Norwich to beat Burnley/Plymouth to beat Charlton - 15/4
Two on-loan Gunners will go head-to-head at Carrow Road on Saturday. Kieran Gibbs’ Norwich are far from consistent but looked bright despite a last-gasp defeat at table topping Bristol City. Home comforts will prevail as the Canaries aim to ease their relegation fears over Mark Randall’s Burnley. Charlton are making heavy work of a swift Premier League return and have not won since March 1. Plymouth will be able to smell the play-offs with victory at home.
£10 single: Everton to win by three or more goals against Derby - 4/1
Hapless Derby were relegated last week and could well be in for an Everton backlash. Defeat in Merseyside derby has dampened their hopes of clinching fourth spot, but David Moyes’ men still have all to play for and can use the Rams as the perfect confidence builder.
Our online friends at Paddy Power are as excited about our midfielders' goalscoring this season as we are. It's rumoured Fabregas, Rosicky and Hleb have got a competition between them to see who’ll score the most this season. Cesc looks to be running away with it but there is a long way to go yet. So Paddy Power’s latest idea is to liven up the competition by giving £50 to charity for every goal they score until the end of the season. This total will be added to the charity bet balance in May. notas_de_prensa_archivo
