EVERTON FC: NO RETURN FOR STUBBS

/noticias.info/ Derby boss Paul Jewell will be without Alan Stubbs for the trip to Goodison Park on Sunday.

The former Blues defender is ruled out after failing to recover from a calf injury which he picked up against Chelsea three weeks ago.

And although it would have been a memorable occasion for Stubbs to play against the club he parted ways with in the January transfer window, Jewell thinks that common sense is needed and to rush the player back would only hinder his recovery.

Jewell said: “It was quite a nasty pull on his calf. We don't want to rush him back and knock him back. I don't think he will be available for Everton.”

Recently relegated Derby are likely to go into the game against the Blues with a ‘nothing to lose’ attitude and the return to fitness of Scottish duo Jay McEveley and Kenny Miller will ensure that the Rams will make it difficult for David Moyes’ men.

Giles Barnes, Tyrone Mears, Claude Davis and Danny Mills will all be missing for Derby with long term injuries. notas_de_prensa_archivo
