FOOTBALL EUROPE: Galatasaray keep pace but Sivasspor slip
/noticias.info/ Galatasaray AS were grateful for an 88th-minute winner from Brazilian midfielder Lincoln as they cut the gap on leaders Fenerbahçe SK back to two points while Sivasspor's title hopes were severely dented by Beşiktaş JK.
Temporary coach
Galatasaray were under the stewardship of caretaker coach Cevat Güler following the resignation of Karl-Heinz Feldkamp, but they returned with the points from Gençlerbirliği SK thanks to Lincoln's late intervention. The goal was the 29-year-old's first since his strike in the reverse fixture last November and it ensured a response from his side after Fenerbahçe overcame Kayserispor 2-1 on Saturday.
Holosko double
Sunday's other big game saw Beşiktaş defeat Sivasspor 2-1 to draw level with their third-placed opponents, five points behind the leaders. Slovakian striker Filip Holosko struck twice within the opening 15 minutes to give the Istanbul side an early lead and they defended resolutely thereafter until Mehmet Yıldız pulled one back for the hosts in added time at the end of the match. notas_de_prensa_archivo
