Oracle Extends Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developer Tools with Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse

Comprehensive Set of Java EE Plug-ins Planned for Eclipse Users

* Demonstrating its continued commitment to the Eclipse Foundation and Open Source Developer Community and furthering its dedication to providing Java developers productivity with choice, Oracle today announced the Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse, a new component of Oracle® Fusion Middleware.
* The Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse is planned to provide a set of certified plug-ins, enabling a development environment designed to support Java EE standards where Eclipse is the preferred Integrated Development Environment (IDE) within an organization.
* To help make application development and deployment easy, regardless of the toolset employed, the Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse is planned to support development with technologies including:
o Java Enterprise Edition
o Java Standard Edition
o JavaServer Faces
o Web Services
o XML
o Spring Framework
o Struts
o Database Development
o CSS & Javascript

Oracle's Commitment to Eclipse

* A Strategic Developer and Eclipse Foundation Board Member, Oracle has a long standing history of active participation in the Eclipse community. Oracle currently leads several projects including:
o JavaServer Faces (JSF) Tools -- intended to simplify development and deployment of JSF applications by providing an extensible tooling infrastructure and exemplary tools for building JSF-based Web applications;
o Dali JPA Tooling -- intended to support the building of extensible frameworks to simplify, define, and edit Object-Relational (O/R) mappings for EJB 3.0 Java Persistence API (JPA) Entities;
o BPEL Tools -- intended to add comprehensive support to Eclipse for the definition, authoring, editing, deploying, testing and debugging of WS-BPEL 2.0 processes.
