PRE-SEASON PLANS

/noticias.info/ Everton's pre-season preparations are underway - with fixtures due to be confirmed shortly.

Sunday's victory over Newcastle means Everton's place in next season's Uefa Cup is now confirmed - ruling out the possibility of involvement in the Intertoto Cup.

It means manager David Moyes can press ahead with plans for a conventional pre-season ahead of the 2008/09 campaign.

Talks are ongoing with a number of clubs but no contracts have yet been confirmed.

Everton Club Secretary David Harrison confirmed: "We are at an advanced stage over the pre-season program but it is like putting a jigsaw together and it is important all the pieces fit.

"There is inevitably talk about possible opponents at this time of year but we would urge supporters not to make travel plans until we have officially confirmed that fixtures will take place."

Everton's senior squad will return to pre-season training in early July.
