Liverpool won their fifth European Cup on a night never to be forgotten against AC Milan in Istanbul.
/noticias.info/ The game has rightly been dubbed as the greatest Champions League final of all time as Rafael Benitez's heroes came back from 3-0 down to win on penalties.
Seemingly down and out at half-time with AC Milan 3-0 up, Liverpool somehow showed their true European fighting colours and came back to 3-3 after an incredible 15-minute period in the second half. Steven Gerrard and Vladimir Smicer gave the Reds hope and when Xabi Alonso scored to make it 3-3 the Liverpool supporters believed once again.
Jerzy Dudek became a hero with an incredible save to deny Andrei Schevchenko in extra-time. Then when he denied the Ukraine star again in the penalty shoot-out, European Cup number five was on its way to the Anfield trophy cabinet.
