VIC NIGERIA DEBUT

/noticias.info/ Victor Anichebe made his first start for Nigeria in their 1-1 draw with Austria on Tuesday.

Anichebe had already scored on debut for the Nigerian under 23s, and followed that up with a good 45-minute showing for the Super Eagles.

The teenage striker began up front alongside Yakubu, while Joseph Yobo was also in the starting XI.Austria took the lead in the 12th minute when Roman Kienast was on target, but then, in the 20th minute, Yakubu played in Kalu Uche who levelled the scores.

Anichebe was replaced at the break as coach Shaibu Amodu looked at his options, with the Yak also replaced in the second period.

The Super Eagles now head from Austria to Nigeria ahead of Sunday's World Cup qualifier against Steven Pienaar's South Africa. notas_de_prensa_archivo
