KOPITES FLOCK TO CITY CENTRE STORE

Fans flocked in their thousands to the opening of Liverpool Football Club’s new city centre superstore today.

/noticias.info/ Anfield icon Phil Neal cut the ribbon on the South John Street development, which at 10,000sq feet is Europe's biggest official club shop.

After looking round the chill-out zone, spiral staircase and heritage wall, the four-times European Cup winner told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's a lovely store.

"It's very important that we keep up with the likes of Manchester United in these areas and everything like this helps to add to the manager's transfer coffers.

"Things like this and the Capital of Culture are transforming the city from my day and making it a place people want to visit."

The store has an unbelievable range of mechanise to suit Reds of all ages, with a special personalisation zone where shoppers can add their own twist to kits, mugs, jigsaws and much more.
Head of retail at the shop, Lee Dwerryhouse, said: "First and foremost this is about size. The Liverpool brand has grown so much over the years and now we are able to cope with that. There are more tills and the customer flow is much better.

"All the money from merchandise sold here will go to the club and will help build a team for the future."
