LIVERPOOL FC: JOY FOR DEGEN AS SWISS WIN

/noticias.info/ Philipp Degen was in action for Switzerland on Friday night when he came on as a 59th minute substitute in his country's 3-0 win over Liechtenstein.

The right back, who will officially sign for the Reds on July 1, is in the Swiss squad for Euro 2008 and Jakob Kuhn's side warmed up for the tournament in fine style at the St Gallen stadium.

It was a special night for Degen's Swiss colleague Alexander Frei when he scored twice to become his country's all-time record goalscorer.

Degen and Switzerland open Euro 2008 next Saturday (June 7) when they face former Red Milan Baros and the Czech Republic in Basel at 6pm GMT. notas_de_prensa_archivo
