IRAQ: Iraqi National Police discover munitions cache (Baghdad)
/noticias.info/ BAGHDAD – Iraqi Security Forces personnel discovered a cache at approximately 2 p.m., June 1, in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad.
Policemen from 5th Brigade, 2nd Iraqi National Police Division, who are partnered with 4th Bn., 64th Armor Regiment, attached to 1st Bde. Combat Team, 4th Infantry Div., Multi-National Division – Baghdad, discovered the cache in an abandoned building during an area reconnaissance mission in the Risalah neighborhood.
The cache consisted of two mortar tubes, one 60mm mortar round, three rockets of undisclosed size and 18 fuses.
The INP patrol hauled the cache to their combat outpost, where the explosives ordinance disposal team met them to handle the recovered items.
“The ISF do an awesome job of finding enemy weapons and munitions caches,” said Maj. Dave Olson, 1st BCT Spokesman, 4th Inf.
