Luis Garcia made it a memorable Anfield debut when he scored in an impressive 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at Anfield.

Having had a goal wrongly disallowed on his Reds debut at Bolton, the Spanish star made a big impression on his first appearance on the hallowed turf. Xabi Alonso also made his Anfield debut when he came on as a 65th minute substitute for Steven Gerrard, and he quickly showed his full range of passing to an adoring crowd.

Steve Finnan scored his first ever goal for Liverpool with a superb finish at the Kop end after Gerrard opened the scoring. It was a good performance from Rafael Benitez's side and an important win as the Reds bounced back from two successive 1-0 defeats.
