UNITED: Bluebirds boss backs Ramsey
/noticias.info/ Cardiff City manager Dave Jones is adamant that Bluebirds prodigy Aaron Ramsey has what it takes to be a success at Old Trafford.
The talented teenager has been the subject of bids from United, Arsenal and Everton, and Jones feels such interest is warranted by Ramsey's talent.
"We have no doubts whatsoever that Aaron could make the grade at somewhere like Manchester United,” said Jones. "We would not let him go there if we had any doubts.
"United are the major force in European football, if not the best club in the world, and with the squad of players they have that domination is set to continue for some time to come. I believe Aaron can go there and play a valuable part in that in the future.”
Although Ramsey's talent is without question, Jones warns that the 17-year-old still has plenty to learn before he fulfils his potential.
“He is not the finished article yet," said Jones. "Who is at 17 years old? You are always learn-ing throughout your career, but obviously those early years are the most important.
“I would say Aaron is on the first rung and is ready to take the next step, but he needs to work.
"He is very level-headed any way, but you know someone like Sir Alex with his track record is an expert at keeping young players’ feet on the ground. I could not really think of many better managers to learn your trade under.”
Meanwhile, Bluebirds chairman Peter Ridsdale has his fingers crossed that Ramsey decides to join United ahead of his other suitors, with United offering to loan the midfielder straight back to Cardiff for next season.
"We would prefer it if Aaron signed for Manchester United, to be honest,” said Ridsdale. “The simple reason being that, from our perspective, we want him to come back to Cardiff next season. I am sure that is something which all our supporters will be hoping for as well.”
A bright future
