ARSENAL: Alexandre Song agrees a new long-term contract

/noticias.info/ Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that Alex Song has signed a new long-term contract with the Club.

Song, 20, originally joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from French side Bastia in 2005, before signing permanently in July 2006. He impressed greatly during a loan spell with Charlton Athletic in the 2006/07 season, before returning to the Club last season.

Alex, who has made six appearances for Cameroon, featured 15 times for the first team last season. Although a strong holding midfielder, Song can also operate in defence, and played at centre-back for the last five matches of the 2007/08 season.

Everyone at the Club is delighted that Alex has signed a new contract and looks forward to him being part of the first-team squad in the forthcoming years. notas_de_prensa_archivo
