MOYES' SUMMER FRUSTRATION
/noticias.info/ David Moyes is ruing the international commitments of a host of his players.
No members of the Everton squad are involved Euro 2008 - but five players still have plenty of international obligations this summer.
Joseph Yobo, Victor Anichebe and Yakubu have already played twice for Nigeria, Tim Howard three times for the USA. And Steven Pienaar is on duty for South Africa.
All three nations have vital World Cup qualifiers this summer.
Moyes told evertonTV: "We have got five players away on international duty, four with the African nations - it's a different situation with their qualifying, so for them they have a summer of football.
"It's disappointing that they have to play so much and obviously Tim Howard has friendlies and World Cup qualifiers so those boys don't have the rest they should.
"I'm sure there are players at others clubs throughout the country who are in similar situations."
The rest of the squad will be able to get some much-needed rest though.
"(Playing in summer tournaments) has been something we have been used to in this country," continued the boss.
"But in a lot of ways the players will be pleased of the rest. There have been a lot of unnecessary friendlies going on, and I think the players would have wanted to be there - but they will be enjoying a period of rest now." notas_de_prensa_archivo
