LONDON2012:Local children’s artwork displayed around Olympic Park

Children from local schools yesterday attended an event where their artwork was unveiled on the hoardings around the Park.

/noticias.info/ Children from 16 schools took part in the community engagement project which the Olympic Delivery Authority ran with local creative arts group Signs of Life.

Students of all abilities and ages showed their artistic talents in six different ways: model-making, photography, collage, creative writing and through footprint and wheelchair tracks on canvas. The artwork can be seen along the Hackney Wick towpath on the western edge of the Park.

Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell said: ‘I am extremely impressed with all the hard work that local children have put into this project. They have demonstrated not only pride in their community but also a real enthusiasm to be part of London 2012.

‘These hoardings will remind local people what the Olympic and Paralympic Games are all about – working together in and around the Park for a lasting sporting and cultural legacy.’ notas_de_prensa_archivo
