FORMULA 1: Surtees awarded Order of the British Empire
/noticias.info/ 1964 Formula One world champion John Surtees is to receive an OBE for his services to motorsport and charity following the publication of Queen Elizabeth II’s annual Birthday Honours List over the weekend.
Englishman Surtees, now 74, is famed as the only champion on two wheels as well as four, after achieving a string of motorcycle world titles prior to his Grand Prix successes. He went on to run his own Formula One team and recently headed up the British team in the A1GP series.

The Honours List also recognised BMW’s multiple world touring car champion, and occasional Formula One tester, Andy Priaulx, who receives an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for his services to sport and for voluntary service to the community in his native Guernsey. notas_de_prensa_archivo
