ISRAEL: FM Livni meets with first Israeli officer to participate in a UN peacekeeping mission

FM Livni meets with Israeli police officer who is leaving to join the UN peacekeeping mission in Georgia

/noticias.info/ Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni met today (Thursday, 19 June 2008) with Superintendant Meira Schori, the first Israeli officer to join a UN peacekeeping mission.

FM Livni expressed her satisfaction with the fact that a woman was chosen for this position, and that Israel is now joining 130 other nations who already contribute personnel to international peacekeeping efforts.

Superintendant Schori will leave on Saturday evening to join the peacekeeping mission in Georgia, where she will be stationed for the next six months. notas_de_prensa_archivo
