IRAQ: ISOF capture four suspected ISI cell members

/noticias.info/ BALAD, Iraq – Iraqi Special Operations Forces captured four suspected cell members for the Islamic State of Iraq, a front organization for al-Qaeda in Iraq, in eastern Mosul, June 19.

The ISOF conducted an operation to capture senior planning and operations members of an ISI cell reportedly responsible for improvised explosive device and mortar attacks against Iraqi and Coalition forces. The members are also suspected of kidnapping and murder in order to intimidate and extort the people of Mosul.

“The capture of these terrorists is expected to disrupt ISI/AQI operations in eastern Mosul and reduce attacks against Iraqi and Coalition forces in the area,” said Lt. Col. Neil Harper, a spokesperson for Multi-National Corps – Iraq. notas_de_prensa_archivo
