US ELECTIONS 08: BARACK OBAMA: Blog: Unite for Change: Bringing New Supporters Into the Process

/noticias.info/ Next weekend, supporters across the country will gather at a Unite for Change event to start planning how their community can help Barack win in November. Here are two supporters who are bringing new people into the process and working to help build the movement…

Many, many people wanted Hillary as our next president. I was one of them. However, moving on to the general election in November it's very important to have a grassroots campaign in the greater Attleboro area.

Barack Obama is what the United States needs to get back to where we were eight years ago before George Bush took office.

This event is being sponsored by the Attleboro Democratic City Committee. We are accepting donations to help defray costs, and any funds left after paying the expenses will be donated to the campaign. We will have refreshments as well as a cash bar. Free coffee will be served.

The reason I am hosting this event, I have been working for two years trying to get some Democratic Action going on in this County (Pondera). Before the primary, some of my friends asked about doing a walk for Obama. We really didn't have any materials at the time for a walk. When I received the request to form a Unite for Change group, I thought this might be a chance to use some of the enthusiasm we have for Obama.

I am hosting this event as a planning meeting. We can then contact some participants and select a date for a canvas.

I was a Hillary supporter at first because I thought she had the best Universal Health Program and I think that is a big item for the U.S.A. My wife was an Obama supporter from the start of his campaign. I attended Barack's Great Falls appearance and he converted me to an enthusiastic supporter.
