EVERTON FC : CARS TOUGH TO REPLACE
/noticias.info/ Joleon Lescott knows Everton have a tough job replacing Lee Carsley.
Since Carsley signed for Birmingham City at the start of the summer, the Toffees have been linked with a string of midfielders from across Europe.
And Lescott, Everton’s player of the season, knows David Moyes will consider all options carefully before making his move.
Lescott exclusively told evertonTV: “I think the gaffer’s main objective now is to replace Lee.
“I know it will be hard to find a replacement for him, because it’s not just on field, it’s his off field attributes as well. It will be tough for us but if we want to progress we have to go out and get some big players.
“Looking at the top four, they spent millions and we spent a bit but no where near as much as them and so to finish so close to the top four is a great achievement.”Indeed, although Lescott recognises the achievements of last season’s campaign, the former Wolves player is always striving to improve.
He added: “I will try and continue with how things went last year, I know I have got to work hard for the team and I’m always looking to improve so hopefully I will do that next season.
“You always like to believe you can play in the Premier League and do well and I feel I have done that so far. But I still feel that there is a long way to go for me and there’s still a lot more that I want to achieve.
“Before I came the club used to go up and down but the gaffer seems to have put a bit of stability in the side now and obviously we’ve got a bigger squad and every player can do a job, whereas before we had a great team but not the squad that was needed.” notas_de_prensa_archivo
