A stunning goal from Robbie Fowler was the highlight of Liverpool's 2-0 win over Arsenal.

After losing their first home game of the 1999-2000 season to Watford, Gerard Houllier's side needed to produce something special and it duly arrived against the Gunners.

Fowler hit a scorching 30-yard drive into the roof of the Anfield Road net to give the Reds the lead and Patrik Berger drove home goal number two in the 76th minute with a deflected free-kick.

Houllier's men were outstanding and to complete a great afternoon for the Reds on a glorious sunny Anfield day Sander Westerveld saved a last minute penalty from Croatian star Davor Suker.
