EVERTON FC: MOYES: AJ NOT FOR SALE
/noticias.info/ Everton manager David Moyes has slammed reports linking Andrew Johnson with a move from Goodison Park - insisting the striker is not for sale.
There has been growing speculation surrounding the England international, with media reports on Friday suggesting a group of six clubs were circling the former Crystal Palace hitman.
But Moyes has made it clear he has no intention of off-loading the £8.6m man - insisting Johnson remains a key part of his plans.
Moyes told evertonfc.com: "Andy Johnson is not for sale - it is that simple. He is a highly-valued member of my senior squad and I look forward to seeing him when the players report back for pre-season training."
Chairman Bill Kenwright echoed the sentiments of his manager.
"David (Moyes) and I obviously talk three or four times a day regarding his transfer targets," he said.
"He has asked me today to confirm what I already knew: that Andrew Johnson is not for sale."
Johnson will report back for pre-season training along with the majority of the first-team squad next week - with those players that have been in action in World Cup qualifiers granted additional time off prior to returning to Finch Farm.
Johnson was signed from Palace in May 2006. He has made 52 Premier League starts for the Blues in two seasons, netting 17 times.
The 27-year-old has racked up 22 goals in all competitions from 64 starts. notas_de_prensa_archivo
