EVERTON FC: LESCOTT GOAL PRIDE

/noticias.info/ Joleon Lescott knows he has a tough job matching last season's goalscoring exploits.

The defender netted ten times last term, and now has 12 in total since joining the Toffees.

Lescott admitted that even he was surprised at that impressive tally, especially as he had managed only 13 goals during his seven-season stint at Wolves.

"I’ve never scored anywhere near that many goals," Lescott said on evertonTV.

"I scored 13 goals in my whole time at Wolves and I’ve scored 12 at Everton already so it’s a great achievement."

Lescott's haul last season included some vital Uefa Cup goals, and the European experience is one that he wants to enjoy again.

He continued: "I didn’t know what to expect because it was the first time that I’ve played in Europe. Going away to some of the grounds with the fans was quality so hopefully we can get the same atmosphere this season.

"It was always nice to score goals, but again I think that the season we had last season meant that it was important to finish fifth and not come in through the back door via the Intertoto." notas_de_prensa_archivo
