EVERTON FC: FRIENDLY FOCUS
/noticias.info/ FC Sion play in the Swiss Super League, a competition they have won twice in their history.
Last season the club finished seventh in the 10-team league, a performance which saw manager Alberto Bigon relieved of his duties.
He was replaced by former German international Uli Stielike, who left his job as coach of the Ivory Coast in January – just weeks before the African Cup of Nations – following the death of his son.
Current players plying their trade at the 21,000-capacity Stade Tourbillon, include former Hearts and Norwich midfielder Julien Brellier, Colombian international Alvaro Dominguez and Beto, a Brazilian best known for scoring a goal for Benfica which eliminated Manchester United from the Champions League in 2005.
One former Sion star whose name will be familiar to British football fans is former Sheffield Wednesday and Crystal Palace striker Mark Bright, who had a brief spell with the club in 1997.
*Please note Everton’s friendly with Sion will be played at the Stade D’Octodure in Martigni. notas_de_prensa_archivo
