Ralf Christian is President of the newly formed T&D Europe Association

/noticias.info/ Ralf Christian, 44, CEO of the Power Distribution Division in the Siemens Energy Sector, has been elected President of the T&D Europe Association. The Association was formed in Brussels in March and officially started its work on July 3, 2008. At Siemens, Christian is responsible for the global power distribution business. Prior to his appointment as Division CEO, Christian had been head of the High Voltage Division of the former Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution Group since December 2004.

Founding members of the new T&D (Transmission and Distribution) Europe Association are the national associations of manufacturers of power transmission and distribution technology in Belgium, Germany, France, Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal and Spain. T&D Europe thus represents 250 manufacturers with 200,000 employees in Europe and a business volume of about EUR 25 billion. These manufacturers represent an important pillar of Europe’s technology base. The new T&D Europe Association will assume an important role in the development and discussion of sound positions, projects and measures in the EU. Its aim is to play an important role as an accepted discussion partner of the EU Commission and EU Parliament in defining the energy policy objectives of the EU in relation to electricity supply networks.


The Siemens Energy Sector is the world’s leading supplier of a complete spectrum of products, services and solutions for the generation, transmission and distribution of power and for the extraction, conversion and transport of oil and gas. In fiscal 2007 (ended September 30, based on IFRS), the Energy Sector had revenues of approximately EUR20 billion and received new orders totaling around EUR28 billion and posted a profit of EUR1.8 billion.
