MILAN - The much-awaited day is here. Sunday 6 July 2008 is a day of celebration for Cristian Chivu and Adelina Elisei. After their engagement and Thursday's civil wedding ceremony, the couple will marry today in the church at the beautiful Stirbey Palace in Buftea, a small town 20km north-west of Bucharest.

The Inter defender and Romania captain, who recently underwent an operation on his shoulder, will celebrate his special day - a ceremony to be followed by a reception - with a host of friends.

Everyone at Inter and all Inter fans salute with affection the happiness of Cristian and Adelina and wish them all the best for their future together.
