PSV: Gomes hopes to return to PSV in future

The Brazilian goalkeeper, who has joined Tottenham Hotspur from PSV, has written an open letter to PSV supporters in which he states that he has much regret about the way he has left PSV and hopes to return to Eindhoven in the future.

“When I think of PSV, I get immediately emotional. I have much regret about the way I left PSV, but I am glad and relieved that I could talk out everything with the club chiefs. This club has offered me the chance to develop myself as a mature player, to play in tournaments like the Champions League and to celebrate four terrific championships. Both me and my family have Eindhoven, PSV and their supporters in our hearts forever. We will follow the club’s achievements with a keen interest. On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to sincerely thank the club, the squad and PSV’s fantastic fans for their great support. I wish I could say goodbye to everybody in person and hopefully, I will have an opportunity once to do so. I am grateful to the Dutch population for giving me such a wonderful reception. I have always been treated with friendship and respect, also during the away games, even though the home fans will not always have liked my shot-stopping capacities. I have the deep wish to be able to defend the PSV goal again sometime. Nobody knows when that will happen but hopefully I will then enjoy the same wonderful reception.
