Robbie Fowler scored his first goal since rejoining Liverpool as Rafael Benitez's side gave Fulham a footballing lesson at Anfield.

It was of course Fulham who were the victims of Fowler's first ever goal for the Reds in a League Cup tie, and it was perhaps no surprise that he would score against the Cottagers again.

Fowler gave the Reds the lead in the 16th minute which was a cue for wild celebrations at Anfield, and although Stern John equalised, it didn't take long for Liverpool to regain their lead as Michael Brown put through his own net for the second goal.

Fernando Morientes made it 3-1 in the 70th minute before substitutes Peter Crouch and Stephen Warnock added more goals in the last two minutes of the game.

It was a miserable Anfield return for former reserve team goalkeeper Tony Warner but it was a great night for Fowler.
