LIVERPOOL FC: MOORE EXPECTING LIVELY ENCOUNTER

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore is expecting a lively encounter when Liverpool visit Prenton Park on Saturday.

/noticias.info/ The Reds travel across the water for their first pre-season friendly, a fixture you can watch live here on Liverpoolfc.tv.

Benitez has indicated that, though his big names are in contention, he is likely to use the full extent of his squad – not that his opposite number is expecting anything other than a hard-fought contest.

"It's a brilliant fixture, you can see that from the response of the Wirral public," Moore told City Talk 105.9. "They can't wait to see this game and that's why it's a 15,000 sell-out.

"Everyone wants to play on Saturday – I want to play! It's like that when you get one of the big boys coming over. If the lads can't enjoy this, they shouldn't be playing football.

"It will be a lively encounter whoever plays. To play for Liverpool you have to be a good player, so whoever plays it will be a tough game."

While Benitez has up to two teams' worth to choose from on Saturday, Moore is still desperately trying to recruit players for another stab at League One promotion.

He joked: "Rafa will be here so it will be nice to meet him and maybe I can talk to him about them being a feeder club to us. My Spanish isn't very good but I know his English is, so maybe we can sort something out."

This weekend's clash is the first between the club since the 2001 FA Cup – and Moore hopes it won't be another seven years before they meet again.

"I know Liverpool go to Crewe and Wrexham quite often but I'd like to think we could give as good a game if not better than them," he said. "It'd be nice to think we could make it an annual fixture." notas_de_prensa_archivo
