EVERTON FC: TURNER RELISHING CHANCE
/noticias.info/ Iain Turner is in confident mood following his injury lay-off.
The Scot missed almost all of last season with a serious hip injury.
But he's over that now and has been putting in extra hours at Finch Farm over the summer in preparation for the forthcoming campaign.
"Last season was a write-off for me," he told evertonTV. "I've been in a lot of the summer trying to get my fitness back so at the moment I'm feeling good.
"My fitness is getting there but it's been a hard couple of weeks."
Sion strap
That extended spell on the sidelines has made the goalkeeper all the more determined to make headway at Everton.
"All long-term injuries are hellish; I just want to be playing week-in, week-out," he said.
"I just want to get fit and get back in the team."
Turner is likely to see some action against FC Sion this weekend, with himself and John Ruddy the two recognised goalies in the travelling party.
"I am dying for a game," he admitted. "The whole of last season I think I played three-and-a-half games, so I just want to get games under my belt.
"I just want get back in the team, prove myself and show everyone what I can do.
"Number one for their club, number one for their country. That is every goalkeeper's dream." notas_de_prensa_archivo
