FORMULA 1: Goodwood and Moscow make for busy non-race weekend

/noticias.info/ There may have been no Grand Prix this weekend, but don’t be fooled - the majority of Formula One teams were still in action, either at the UK’s annual Goodwood Festival of Speed, or in Russia at the Moscow City Racing event.

Following his recent British Grand Prix win, world championship leader Lewis Hamilton was the star attraction at Goodwood, as he blasted his McLaren up the famous hill on Sunday, but another six teams were also in attendance over the three-day event, with either race or test drivers.

BMW Sauber had testers Christian Klien and Marko Asmer in action; Jenson Button and tester Alex Wurz were at the wheel for Honda; Ferrari had test driver Marc Gene on duty; and test driver Kamui Kobayashi was charged with piloting the Toyota.

Red Bull’s driving was done by tester Sebastian Buemi, but the team's chief technical officer Adrian Newey was also there to display his prowess behind the wheel, thought not in one of his Formula One creations, but instead a 1969 Ferrari 512M sportscar.

Meanwhile, Williams headed further east, as Nico Rosberg demonstrated the FW30 on a special 4.6-kilometre street circuit around the Kremlin on the banks of Moscow’s Moskva river.

Red Bull also attended the inaugural Moscow City Racing motorsport festival, with Russian driver Mikhail Aleshin at the wheel of their Formula One machine. Moscow-born Aleshin is a member of the Red Bull Junior Team and is currently competing in the World Series by Renault. notas_de_prensa_archivo
