LIVERPOOL FC: DIRK: HARD WORK STARTS NOW
Dirk Kuyt admits he and his teammates are being put through the mill during the Swiss training camp – not that he's complaining.
/noticias.info/ The forward, who turns 28 next week, returned to the fold on Wednesday after his Euro 2008 exploits with Holland.
After initial greetings it was straight down to work, with double training sessions the order of the day.
"It was nice to see the lads, shake everyone's hand and talk about what we've been up to in the break," Kuyt told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"These are normal things but now we need to work really hard to get ready for the new season.
"Rafa has a lot of work in store for us but that is what we need. We've had a good holiday and now we're looking forward to the new season."
There may be well over a month left in the transfer window, but Kuyt is confident the Reds are already a far stronger outfit following the arrival of names such as Andrea Dossena and Philipp Degen.
The former Feyenoord ace is hopeful the new faces can help reduce the 11-point gap between Liverpool and 2007-08 champions Man Utd.
"We already had a really strong team and now we've added to that," said Kuyt. "Hopefully we can progress and get closer to the top than last year." notas_de_prensa_archivo
