Liverpool produced a fantastic display as Arsenal were totally outplayed at Anfield.

Arsenal may have fielded Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp, but Steven Gerrard and Igor Biscan were inspirational in midfield.

Fresh from the 1-0 win at Old Trafford, Gerard Houllier's side were full of confidence as Liverpool gave their fans a Christmas treat.

Gerrard hit a fantastic opening goal at the Kop end and three more were added to the tally in the second half.

Michael Owen and Nick Barmby made it 3-0 before Robbie Fowler came off the bench to score a superb fourth goal.
