LIVERPOOL FC: ON THIS DAY: JULY 20, 2005
The reigning European champions strengthened their forward line by signing Peter Crouch from Southampton on this day three years ago.
/noticias.info/ After a slow start the lanky striker went on to prove his worth to the club scoring 42 goals in 134 matches during his time at Anfield.
On signing for the club he could not hide his delight at the chance to pull on that famous red shirt.
"I'm really thrilled. It was up in the air where I was going to be this season but to join a club like this is something special," he said.
"As soon as I knew about the interest from Liverpool a few months ago I was eager to come, just like anyone would. It's a club with a great tradition and with the success last year it is a challenge that I'm really relishing. I'm pleased it has come off."
Liverpoolfc.tv would also like to say a happy birthday to one of the club's greatest ever forwards, as 'Sir' Roger Hunt, the club's highest all-time goalscorer in the league, turns 70 today. notas_de_prensa_archivo
