Beijing 2008:National and Olympic anthems for Olympic ceremonies handed over
/noticias.info/ The handover ceremony for national and Olympic anthems for Olympic welcoming and victory ceremonies was held at Beijing People's Art Theater on July 23, marking the start that these songs may be officially played in Olympic venues.
205 states and regions make up the IOC, while there are 207 members of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
Altogether, 212 songs were recorded and produced for the 2008 Olympic Games, which include national and Olympic anthems of the 207 member states and regions, one long version and one short version of the Beijing 2008 Olympic song, one Paralympic Games song, and two welcome songs each for Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.
Each song recorded is no longer than 90 seconds for the convenience of holding Olympic Games-related ceremonies. The recording of these anthems was completed by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra over a two-year span.
The national and Olympic anthems for Olympic welcoming and victory ceremonies have been agreed upon by the IOC, the IPC and their members, and will become part of Olympic legacy, according to Zhao Huimin, director of BOCOG International Relations Department. notas_de_prensa_archivo
