CHELSEA FC: CLEAN SWEEP FOR DISABILITY TEAM AT FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

/noticias.info/ Chelsea Football Club's Community girls and boys disability teams topped a successful season by winning two major national disability competitions.

Both teams scooped awards at the National Football Museum's Festival of Football held at the University of Central Lancashire sports arena in Preston.

The competition is one of the leading tournaments for youth players with learning difficulties.

Both the Chelsea teams had to overcome stiff opposition, with the boys beating the current National College champions from Manchester as well as teams from Leeds United, Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle on their way to the trophy. After a gruelling day the girl's team overcame a determined Wolves team in their final.

Steve Daley, England's partially sighted World Cup captain and Kevin Moore, National Football Museum director and our own Chelsea Ladies star Lorrie Fair, were on hand to present the Chelsea team with their trophies.

Kevin Moore praised the Chelsea players and coaching team: 'Chelsea Community side played excellent football and richly deserve to be winners this year.

'The players are a credit to their club and Chelsea Community coaching staff are an outstanding example of a club providing quality inclusive, disability schemes for young male and female players with learning difficulties.' notas_de_prensa_archivo
